Double yellow lines obliterated after 14 months

Reported via desktop in the Road Markings - Worn/Faded category by Richard Vivian at 15:38, Thu 18 April 2024

Sent to West Northamptonshire Council less than a minute later. ref: 5871068.

February 2023 at the formal request of Long Buckby Parish Council, (report ref 4205130), you renewed the double yellow lines on LB High Street between the junction with Brington Road & the 'Pinstripes' shop front. As you will see from the photos these line have already been largely obliterated. Cars parked in this location cause a serious accident hazard (just as they did when you painted the lines before). Accordingly the Parish Council once again formally requests that you renew the lines as soon as possible. I doing so we point out that the risk is at its highest at rush hour times and when the adjacent school 'turns out'.

  • 5 months & nothing has changed. I am at a loss to know what is the point of the Fix-My-Street service. It invites the public to report faults, acknowledges the fault has been found and then does nothing about it. All the while it asks for feedback about the fault & repair pretending that it cares or intends to do anything about it. This is a cynical attempt to fool the public into believing that the Council cares about its responsibilities or intends to do anything whatsoever to rectify them. I am disgusted. I begin to wonder if a totalitarian government would do better.
