Cattle grid has dropped and not flush with road surface

Sent to West Northamptonshire Council 46 minutes later. ref: 5997978.

The cattle grid has dropped both sides by about 2/3 inches. It is nit flush with road surface and will cause damage to car tyres under car undercarriage. Also the front bars are bent forward leaving a gap that wou”d be very dangerous for sheep getting trapped.

  • The above defect, reference number 5997978 was reported in May 2024 and has not be rectified. The cattle grid in question does not comply with standard BS4008. There are still 2 main problems. Firstly the cattle grid no longer follows the contour of the road and has dropped about 2/3 inches. Secondly, which could be more dangerous, is that the cross bars no longer seem to be securely fixed to each other so it could be possible they could move sideways or even rotate if bounced by heavy vehicles. Also the front bars are bent forward leaving a gap that could easily injure sheep getting trapped.
