Uneven pot holey road for at least 10 mtrs at the traffic lights

Reported via Android in the Potholes / Highway Condition category anonymously at 17:58, Monday 20 May 2024

Sent to West Northamptonshire Council less than a minute later. ref: 5998298.

This problem has been in existence for at least 1½ years and is worsening it is very uncomfortable to drive over and could cause suspension damage to a car. It is at the traffic lights from Alfred street turning left into Billing Road or straight over to Cliftonville road Whilst it probably doesn't look bad it could cause an accident trying to avoid it

  • Investigation: Completed (Defect Found), Defect Repair: Not Started - We can confirm that the defect has been inspected and doesn’t currently meet the councils’ criteria as an urgent safety defect. We will however raise a pre-emptive defect; this means we aim to carry out these repairs before they become safety defects requiring an urgent response. We plan to undertake this work while carrying out other suitable maintenance in the local vicinity. We will continue to monitor their condition as part of our routine Highways Inspection schedule. If you notice the defect has worsened, then please inform us via an update to your existing enquiry.

  • This road has worsened and another hole is starting to develop, traffic is using the other side of the road to avoid. There will be a collision soon.

  • This is a joke - we report issues but they are not addressed or actioned. Please escalate this request and kindly fix the pothole.

  • Do you have a date that you can share?

  • This has been ongoing for over a year now and has been reported many times with no action taken. As it is now a danger to road users, maybe WNC can provide a valid repair date which is not months in the future….

  • The annoying thing is even if it’s reported it’s not addressed or fix! This is why people don’t report issues to the council, it seems pointless - just fix the problem.
