Ivy growth extending across pavement and walls

Reported via desktop anonymously at 21:03, Sun 26 May 2024

Sent to West Northamptonshire Council less than a minute later. ref: 6023214.

Ivy and other growth increasingly extending out across a busy stretch of pavement along south side of Billing Road opposite the end of Lower Thrift Street. The ivy is impeding pedestrian use on this important used route to schools. The vegetation is also obscuring and will soon completely hide the decorative stone wall and historic entrance columns of what was once the 'The Cedars' along with associated decorative ironwork railings and walling. These latter are an important visual feature of the Billing Rd Conservation Area. Please remove the vegetation to reinstate views of these local historic features as well as keeping the pavement safe. Thank you.

Updates

  • Ivy & overhanging growth has spread & presents ongoing risk to pedestrians alongside approximately 100 metres on south side of this busy road & a route to nearby schools (opposite roughly 51 to 62 Billing Road) It also hides an important visual element (walls, railings & old gateways) within Billing Road Conservation Area. Please remove/ cut back or get owners to. Thank you
