Road unfit for use
Reported via desktop in the Restricted Visibility / Overgrown / Overhanging category by Chris Harris at 11:10, Tue 11 June 2024
Sent to West Northamptonshire Council 4 months, 2 weeks, 6 days, 15 minutes later. ref: 6092322.
This road is missing the following basic standard requirements. Please see list below. Please also notw that whilst a previously closed case states "We can confirm that this area is still unadopted by highways and should be maintained by housing developers", the developers (BCH to the north and Persimmon to the south) state that the road has indeed been handed over. Please precisely confirm which developer is considered responsible for the completion and maintenance of this critical road if WNC/NHA state they are not.
1) Regular upkeep of bushes to each side of the road (these are now protruding into the driveway, thus scratching passing vehicles) 2) Passing places (otherwise, please state how a bi-directional road can possibly be used without them). This is a clear safety hazard 3) A road name sign on the NE entry point 4) Signage warning pedestrians of the crossing point which has been created through the middle (running parallel with Sharpe St.). This is a clear safety hazard 5) Several pothole repairs (the worst of which are at the NE entrance side) 6) Road markings/curb stones denoting the verges in order to prevent continued damage 7) Street lighting

Hi. Any update to share on this one please? Are you able to help determine the name of the developer we need to engage with if NHA confirm no responsibility? Thank you

Investigation: Completed (Reported to a third party) - Thank you for your enquiry. A qualified Highways Inspector has attended the location it appears that currently talbot homes are the current developers and should be responsible for maintaining any kind of faults within the development
State changed to: not the council's responsibility
