High hedge obstructing view of oncoming traffic

Reported via mobile in the Restricted Visibility category anonymously at 18:55, Thu 27 June 2024

Sent to West Northamptonshire Council less than a minute later. ref: 6164261.

The road from West Haddon to Cold Ashby has a severely overgrown hedge at the Guilsborough turn. It blocks visibility of the oncoming traffic until it is very close to the junction. Anyone trying to turn right onto the Guilsborough Road is at high risk as the oncoming traffic comes round that bend at 60mph. I use the road (and junction) regularly, and have never seen the hedge allowed to grow so high. Yesterday afternoon I drove towards Guilsborough (in a standard estate car), slowed down at the junction as always, then suddenly a small oil tanker appeared, driving at about 60mph, and had been completely hidden behind the hedge until he was very close to the junction. I feel that an accident is very likely to happen there and, due to the fact it is a national speed limit road, it would probably cause a fatality.
