Drains blocked on High Street Weston

Sent to West Northamptonshire Council less than a minute later. ref: 6213206.

A number of drains on High Street Weston and on the road out of Weston towards Weedon Lois are blocked, causing flooding.

  • Investigation: Completed (Defect Found), Defect Repair: Not Started - Thank you for your enquiry. A qualified Highways Inspector has assessed the location and we can confirm that in accordance with the WNC Highways Inspection Manual, the flooding has been assessed and requires a Priority 4 response. We will schedule drainage investigation work to be completed within 26 weeks. When the investigation has been completed, we will inform you of our findings and course of action. Our current average response time for a Priority 4 is 37.3 days.

  • We were promised that this situation would be resolved by 10th January. The drains are still blocked. Local residents are very concerned about problems with flooding when there is heavy rainfall.

  • This problem was first reported in July 2024, six months ago. We were told it would be resolved by 10th January. It is now nearly the end of January and the drains are still blocked. Local residents are angry and raised this at the Parish Council meeting on 27th January. When will the work be done?
