  • This stile was built by myself as I own the land surrounding and the property No53 Eastfield Crescent. The Rights of Way department of Northamptonshire County Council wanted to remove any form of obstruction, to which I objected as it would encourage this footpath to be used by cyclist and horses - we've had them all here in the 38 years that I've lived here! The adjacent farmer re-erected the fence and I built the stile step board. I met with a RoW officer early this year and discussed the possibility of a swing gate. Apparently the width available is too narrow. If I could be supplied with either a stile kit or a swing gate, I will rebuild in due course. The nails have been removed and the stile cross board made firmer.
