No road markings

Reported via desktop in the Road Markings - Worn/Faded category anonymously at 09:58, Wednesday 24 July 2024

Sent to West Northamptonshire Council less than a minute later. ref: 6268643.

Following on from the resurfacing works through Overstone/Sywell Village W/C 15th July 2024, there are some areas where road markings have not been painted on the new surface.

The main area of concern for this is at the marker, but there are a couple of other points through the villages where some markings should be painted.

  • Still open, via questionnaire, 20:03, Wednesday 21 August 2024

  • This has yet to be completed, more than 1 week after it as due to be completed, is there any update on when this will be complete?

Cars coming west out of Overstone towards Moulton frequently cut the corner, making it dangerous for cars going the other way due to the lack of markings to identify where the road lanes are.

  • Hi

Is there any updates on this? Cars are STILL cutting the corner exiting Overstone headed West, and there is no obvious sign of plans to paint the roads (planned closures).

The road works were completed in July - 3 months ago, and the lines are still yet to be painted.

I am not sure exactly what is meant by ""the micro has been finished" No work needs to be done to the central area of the road, so I see no reason this should be delayed when it is a safety concern

  • Hi

We are now more than 12 working days since this would be fixed "within 12 working days" and still no sign of any works being done to complete the road markings.

Apparently the highways agency deems it ok to leave roads unsafe with people cutting corners due to lack of markings.

Please can you confirm when this will be remediated, and ensure that it happens in that time.

This issue was initially reported over 4 months ago and is a safety concern to users of the road.

  • Investigation: Completed (Defect Found) - Thank you for your enquiry. Apologies for the delay but due to the wet weather these works have had to be delayed. These works are due to be completed this week.
