Overhanging tree causing damage

Sent to West Northamptonshire Council less than a minute later. ref: 6345460.

This tree on the green is overhanging the house and requires maintenance be cut back to prevent damage to the property. The parish council has informed us they do not own the land and it belongs WNC Highways. Please accept this as reasonable notice ice that a nuisance is being caused and we are providing reasonable time of 21 days to take necessary steps to abate the nuisance

  • Investigation: Ongoing (Reported to a third party) - Thank you for your enquiry. A qualified Highways Inspector has assessed the location and we can confirm that the vegetation is the responsibility of the landowner. In accordance with the WNC Network Management Plan, we will contact the landowner and request they cut back their vegetation within 14 days of receipt of our correspondence. We will reinspect the vegetation to ensure they have complied.

  • 14 Days have now passed and the tree has still not been cut back as above. The tree causes nuisance when it is Windy and is keeping the tenant awake! Please rectify this issue.

  • Despite calling WNC, being transfer to Kier and promised the ‘engineer’ in charge would call with an update last week, I am still waiting…..

  • Investigation: Completed (Highways to Monitor, Routine Inspection Programme) - Thank you for your enquiry. A qualified Highways Inspector has assessed the location, and we can confirm that in accordance with the WNC Highways Inspection Manual, the vegetation at this location is not currently meet the intervention criteria. We will continue to monitor the vegetation as part of our routine highway inspection schedule. Should you notice this issue worsening, please inform us by raising a new Fixmystreet enquiry.
