Dangerous tree
Reported via mobile in the Restricted Visibility / Overgrown / Overhanging category anonymously at 08:17, Wed 14 August 2024
Sent to West Northamptonshire Council less than a minute later. ref: 6353341.
To the Council,
I am writing to request the urgent cutting back of the vegetation and trees opposite 14 high street due to significant safety concerns. The tree is currently posing multiple hazards, including:
1. **Interference with Electrical Wires**: The tree's branches are constantly hitting overhead wires, increasing the risk of power outages or electrical fires.
2. **Obstruction to Public Transport**: Buses pass by this tree daily, with branches striking the vehicles each time, causing potential damage to the buses and endangering passengers.
3. **Horizontal Growth Across the Road**: The tree has grown horizontally across the road, obstructing traffic and making it difficult for larger vehicles to pass safely.
4. **Dangerous Branches**: Several branches appear unstable and could fall at any moment, posing a significant risk to pedestrians, cyclists, and motorists.
5. **Risk to Public Safety and Property**: The tree's current condition threatens the safety of nearby residents and could cause damage to surrounding houses in the event of a branch or the tree itself collapsing.
Given these pressing concerns, I urge the council to prioritise the removal of this tree to prevent any potential accidents or damage.
Sincerely,
David batchelor

It's now been 21 days. Which means it's seven days overdue of being cut back. With the current storms and the fact the vegetation is in power lines we are worried fot the safety of ourselves, pedestrians and neighbours. You state that these trees belong to the neighbour but the stumps Re on council property next to a dog and grit bin. Does this mean they can move thier fence back? Please can this be looked into as a matter of public safety please.
