A Slabs - Uneven / Damaged / Cracked problem has been found
Reported via desktop in the Slabs - Uneven / Damaged / Cracked category by West Northamptonshire Council at 10:44, Wednesday 28 August 2024
Sent to West Northamptonshire Council less than a minute later. ref: 6406595.
Photo's taken in June a small problem with a short stretch of the path at the Staverton end where the path leaves the Village. Tree roots have made the surface of the path uneven; you could almost consider it the footpath equivalent of a pothole - anyone or anything traversing it risks getting ‘broken’, be that an adult, child, wheelchair, pushchair etc.

Please refer to Fix My Street Reference No 6142996 which has now been completely resolved and for which Staverton PC is most grateful.
There remains, however, a small problem with a short stretch of the path at the Staverton end where the path leaves the Village. Tree roots have made the surface of the path uneven; you could almost consider it the footpath equivalent of a pothole - anyone or anything traversing it risks getting ‘broken’, be that an adult, child, wheelchair, pushchair etc.
The photographs I took in June 2023 when I sent in a previous report to Fix My Street; I think it was 4618651. At that time, I was advised that the damage to the footpath did not meet the criteria for repair.
Daventry’s local cycling and walking infrastructure plan, published in January 2024, cites ‘narrow or uneven footways’ as a ‘key barrier to walking’2 . Perhaps it would be timely if you could reconsider WNC Highways’ position on this matter and arrange for its repair, to encourage more pedestrian use. I assure you the people of Staverton would be grateful for your further support.
Yours sincerely,
Cllr Tim Moriarty Staverton Parish Council – Highways Representative.
