Investigating
Developer using concrete blocked drains
Reported via mobile in the Blocked/Damaged category anonymously at 18:19, Thursday 5 September 2024
Sent to West Northamptonshire Council less than a minute later. ref: 6441018.
Today a developer who is building at the end of Brown’s Yard had cement trucks parked up in the street. They used hoses after their job to wash the street but all the run-off residue has now gone into both drains and blocked them. We live next to these drains and have a coal hole to our cellar adjacent to one of them. If we get heavy rainfall, this will run into our home and cause water damage.

The builders working at number 15 park street have caused this issue and this was before the above report on the Thursday. This has absolutely nothing to do with the contractors building a house at the end of Browns Yard. The drains are blocked due to cement being churned in the street outside number 15 and this cascading down park street. It has ruined the double yellow lines and the road as well as the drains, it is blocked solid outside of momo vape now. This is appalling and should be looked into.

Thank you for the update. I am appalled to say that since you have raised this repair, I have walked down into the town with my wife today and I saw one of these builders tipping concrete directly down the drain outside 1 park street from a bucket. This is a deliberate act of vandalism and absolute ignorance. This is ruining this historic street, I do hope that the council takes appropriate action against the people doing this to our lovely town.
