There is a guard rail missing on a bridge over a stream big enough for a child to fall through

  • Unfortunately, between 6.30pm on 9 October and 6pm today, 10 October, the barriers on both sides have been thrown in the river and more damage has been done.

A works order has been raised which you can follow on 6473485 and add updates. The expected completion date for these works will be ON OR BEFORE 18/9/26 in the meantime the site has been barriered off and made safe

  • More rods are now missing from the bridge and there is no barrier on any part to prevent children slipping through. This bridge is used daily by walkers, many with children. It's too dangerous to wait until 18/9/26 for repairs

  • Sunday 30th March: Temporary barriers are in the river again. They were still standing on Saturday 29th March, early afternoon.

  • The barriers are still in place but unfortunately a new rod has come away creating another dangerous gap

A qualified Highways Inspector has attended the location and carried out an immediate permanent repair / maintenance. Your enquiry will now be closed. If for any reason you believe we have not attended the correct defect, please inform us by raising a new enquiry.
