Deep sided large size water retaining potholes

These potholes are a danger to all road users on this unlit section of road with no footpath. It is very easy to turn a foot or throw a cycle wheel in these road defects and they require urgent repair.

  • Investigation: Completed (Defect Found), Defect Repair: Not Started - Thank you for your enquiry. A qualified Highways Inspector has assessed the photo/s and we can confirm that in accordance with the WNC Highways Inspection Manual, the defect meets the requirement for a Priority 4 repair. We will schedule a repair to be completed within 26 weeks. Our current average response time for a Priority 4 repair is 38 days.

    There has been no repair work carried out in this location to date. The road condition has worsened further with new potholes appearing. Remedial works are now required asap on this unlit stretch of road with no footpaths. The road condition here is a danger to all road users including cyclist, horse riders and the many dog walkers.

  • I turned my foot yet again the other evening in the pothole immediately outside “Nonesuch Cottage” in the of the Bunkers Hill incline.

  • Investigation: Completed (Duplicate), Defect Repair: Not Started - Thank you for your enquiry. We can confirm that we have been made aware of this issue and a works order has been raised on a routine safety inspection. The expected completion date for these works will be 31/03/2025.
