Drain blocked causing large puddle that is impossible to avoid

Sent to West Northamptonshire Council less than a minute later. ref: 6503560.

Always floods the path and road every time we get a large amount of rain. a large amount of children use this area nad either have to walk through the puddle or walk in a busy road

  • Investigation: Completed (Defect Found) - Thank you for your enquiry. West Northants received approximately 140mm of rain over a short period of time, resulting in severe flash flooding in many areas. The heavy rainfall had the ability to overwhelm the surface water drainage system. If your report is a repeat flooding incident, please could update this enquiry with further information, so that we can investigate. If this is not a repeat incident, we will close the enquiry after 7 days and the highways team will continue to monitor the location

  • This drain is still not draining water away properly and it is right in front of the bus shelter at the bus stop.

  • Investigation: Completed (Highways to Monitor, Routine Inspection Programme) - Thank you for your enquiry. A qualified Highways Inspector has assessed the location, and we can confirm that in accordance with the WNC Highways Inspection Manual, this defect does not meet the investigatory levels for a repair. We will continue to monitor the condition as part of our routine highway inspection schedule. Should you notice the defect worsening, please inform us by raising a new Fixmystreet enquiry.
