  • Investigation: Ongoing - Thank you for your enquiry. West Northants received approximately 140mm of rain over a short period of time, resulting in severe flash flooding in many areas. The heavy rainfall had the ability to overwhelm the surface water drainage system. If your report is a repeat flooding incident, please could update this enquiry with further information, so that we can investigate. If this is not a repeat incident, we will close the enquiry after 7 days and the highways team will continue to monitor the location

  • Despite numerous phones calls and visits the last being sat 19th Oct. after a small sharp shower this is the result. white foam from drain in road . this will continue to happen unless the drainage is this street is checked properly. it requires a crawler to go down the pipes .

  • Investigation: Completed (Defect Found), Defect Repair: Not Started - Thank you for your enquiry. A qualified Highways Inspector has assessed the location and we can confirm that in accordance with the WNC Highways Inspection Manual, the flooding has been assessed and requires a Priority 3 response. We will schedule drainage investigation work to be completed within 28 days. When the investigation has been completed, we will inform you of our findings and course of action. Our current average response time for a Priority 3 is 13 days.

  • This work had still not been completed despite message on the 21st October. this gives me no confidence that when torrential rain comes again houses will flood . please provide update as to when the defects found will be repaired

  • Further to your report if there is no defect please explain why when there is substantial rainfall why do drains overflow and then properties flood. I do not accept your finding

  • Could you please update as to how you intend to investigate as to why drains overflow and properties suffer flooding after your finding that water flows freely. is it maybe the pipes are not big enough to take access water .
