The drains from church road going all the way down the hill on greenway are blocked, there are two drains pictures attached which are located next to 17 Greenway, NN11 7HP

Reported via mobile in the Blocked/Damaged category anonymously at 20:00, Mon 23 September 2024

Sent to West Northamptonshire Council less than a minute later. ref: 6506792.

The drains have been blocked for over a year despite reporting them, I have rang today as it’s flooding our property and causing damage in the lower fields. I have the field located next to 17 Greenway, and due to the water flowing down from the village more than it can hold due to lack of functioning effective drains, the field is not useable. One drain has a rose bush growing in it and one has been blocked with soil/debris/stones from water flowing at pace as higher drains don’t function.

My email is sinead.fitz@outlook.com and my mobile is 07541002422 should you need access to the field.

  • Investigation: Ongoing - Thank you for your enquiry. West Northants received approximately 140mm of rain over a short period of time, resulting in severe flash flooding in many areas. The heavy rainfall had the ability to overwhelm the surface water drainage system. If your report is a repeat flooding incident, please could update this enquiry with further information, so that we can investigate. If this is not a repeat incident, we will close the enquiry after 7 days and the highways team will continue to monitor the location

  • Hi, further to an Automated email sent to me today re blocked drain, this is not a new blockage due to heavy rainfall recently. Both drains are completely blocked and not functioning at all. They need immediate attention before the winter. Thank you
