Our property floods
Reported via mobile in the Blocked - flooding private property category anonymously at 08:22, Tuesday 24 September 2024
Sent to West Northamptonshire Council 6 minutes later. ref: 6507737.
Our property floods every time we get heavy rain. Road floods and the drains don’t take away the water. We’ve lived at the property for 17 years and this never used to be a problem. The drive way and garage get completely submerged by up to 20 cm of water. We are unable to access the property.

Investigation: Ongoing - Thank you for your enquiry. West Northants received approximately 140mm of rain over a short period of time, resulting in severe flash flooding in many areas. The heavy rainfall had the ability to overwhelm the surface water drainage system. If your report is a repeat flooding incident, please could update this enquiry with further information, so that we can investigate. If this is not a repeat incident, we will close the enquiry after 7 days and the highways team will continue to monitor the location

This is not a one off incident, and this has now happened several times, and has been reported previously.
