Investigation: Ongoing - Thank you for your enquiry. West Northants received approximately 140mm of rain over a short period of time, resulting in severe flash flooding in many areas. The heavy rainfall had the ability to overwhelm the surface water drainage system. If your report is a repeat flooding incident, please could update this enquiry with further information, so that we can investigate. If this is not a repeat incident, we will close the enquiry after 7 days and the highways team will continue to monitor the location

Forget the recent heavy rain, this has only compounded the issues along here. After normal rainfall water flows out of the storm drain circled in the attached picture by the roundabout and flows down Berrywood Road. The other pictures show some of the blocked drains which are on both sides for the road all the way to Main Road.

I drove past this drain today and although not raining for a few hours, it was overflowing with water which was running down all the way to main road (skipping over all the drains in the road which clearly aren’t doing what they were built for).
There is clearly a serious blockage in or around this area which is forcing all of the water back out of the drain and onto the road surface.
When heavy rain does hit, this is yet another issue with the drainage system in the area which causes danger to road users and flooding in houses locally.
Please unblock this drain as soon as possible as I can see this drain was initially reported in September 2024 with no actual action taken by west Northants to unblock this.
