Investigating
Drains blocked
Reported via mobile in the Blocked/Damaged category anonymously at 13:44, Wed 25 September 2024
Sent to West Northamptonshire Council less than a minute later. ref: 6514629.
Whilst one drain has been partially cleared there are two other drains at the top of Church Lane that are still are partially blocked due to slit at the side of the road. Only removing the silt covering the drain will not solve the issue as the slit at the side of the road will block the grain again next time it rains. The side of the road need needs to be cleared to allow the drains to function correctly

Investigation: Ongoing - Thank you for your enquiry. West Northants received approximately 140mm of rain over a short period of time, resulting in severe flash flooding in many areas. The heavy rainfall had the ability to overwhelm the surface water drainage system. If your report is a repeat flooding incident, please could update this enquiry with further information, so that we can investigate. If this is not a repeat incident, we will close the enquiry after 7 days and the highways team will continue to monitor the location

Due to the drains and sludge at the side of the road not being cleared, the drains further down the street are now blocked and not draining correctly. Ignoring this for a few months has created a much bigger job as all the drains down the street now need to be cleaned out.
