A Blocked - flooding private property problem has been found

Sent to West Northamptonshire Council less than a minute later. ref: 6515265.

Flooding 288 Main Road NN5 6NJ Blocked drain. Main road raised level higher than drive allows heavy downpours of rain flooding into my property.

  • Investigation: Ongoing - Thank you for your enquiry. West Northants received approximately 140mm of rain over a short period of time, resulting in severe flash flooding in many areas. The heavy rainfall had the ability to overwhelm the surface water drainage system. If your report is a repeat flooding incident, please could update this enquiry with further information, so that we can investigate. If this is not a repeat incident, we will close the enquiry after 7 days and the highways team will continue to monitor the location

  • This is a repeat flooding incident. The first report being July when someone came to clear the drain. The second and third incident was reported and someone came to clear the drain. This is a highways problem that needs to be looked at and resolved. No one has attended the site or been in touch with me to arrange visit. If heavy rainfall has the ability to overwhelm the system a solution needs to be found to solve the issue to stop water flooding into my driveway. There is obviously a real issue with the system. I am not the only person suffering with flooding so something needs to be done to stop this happening again. My home should not be flooding because of the negligence of the Council. Please arrange an appointment to visit the site
