Illegal dropped kerb
Reported via desktop in the Obstruction (Not Vegetation) category anonymously at 21:04, Wed 2 October 2024
Sent to West Northamptonshire Council 4 days, 12 hours, 46 minutes later. ref: 6544816.
I’d like to bring to your attention a dropped kerb that’s been installed on 15 Swansea Road, Northampton, NN5 7BU, which doesn’t seem to meet the required guidelines. What’s particularly concerning is that it appears the resident might have installed it on purpose to stop other people from parking in front of their property. The driveway it leads to is less than 4.8 meters deep, so it’s not really functional, but it’s causing confusion for road users who think they can't park there. This creates an unnecessary obstruction and increases the risk of accidents, as vehicles might end up reversing into the road or blocking the pavement. Given the potential safety risk and the way it’s affecting parking and traffic flow, I’d really appreciate it if you could look into the matter and take appropriate action. It seems like the kerb should either be removed or adjusted to meet proper standards.
