Huge hole in the road from former repair

Reported via mobile in the Potholes / Highway Condition category anonymously at 10:43, Saturday 19 October 2024

Sent to West Northamptonshire Council less than a minute later. ref: 6634044.

Pothole is long and deep. Very straight lines so old repair disintegrated. What 3 words location ///secondly.lurching.nearly

This is the worst and most dangerous pothole on the road, but the whole road is a disgrace, particularly the hill further on towards south kilworth. The road is often used as a cut through if problems on A14 or M1 so avoiding potholes can be difficult.

  • I hit this pothole on Friday 18th October (avoiding it would have required swerving into oncoming traffic). The impact was so bad that the car was shunted towards the oncoming vehicle, my wheel rim was bent and I got a puncture. The whole road is in completely unacceptable condition, but this pothole specifically is stupidly dangerous and has now damaged my car, which will not be cheap to fix.
