No 30mph sign

Reported via desktop anonymously at 08:41, Thu 31 October 2024

Sent to West Northamptonshire Council less than a minute later. ref: 6678723.

The main road is a 40mph (but should really be a 30mph)

When turning in to the Morisse Fields estate there are no signs to suggest the estate should be a 30mph limit, therefore does this mean the estate is a 40mph?

Updates

  • Thank you for your enquiry, concerning the speed limit for the Morisse Fields Estate.

I can advise this matter has been brought to our attention and recently considered as part of the Speed Limit Review process, whereby the panel agreed to amend the existing 40mph buffer speed limit to 30mph. This means Morisse Field Estate will fall within the 30mph restriction.

By way of some background, all speed limit alterations have a Traffic Regulation Order (TRO) behind them in order to make restrictions legal and enforceable. The Council is therefore required to follow a formal process, which includes consultation and potentially a period of dealing with any objections, before the speed signs can be implemented. Subject to the consultation period, I anticipate the signing work being carried out in the early stages of 2025.

I trust you find this information helpful.
