Water pouring across pavement and road for over 6 weeks
Reported via mobile in the Flooding category anonymously at 16:23, Sat 2 November 2024
Sent to West Northamptonshire Council 1 day, 17 hours, 47 minutes later. ref: 6687467.
This water will freeze and cause a major h&s danger. A resident reported at Anglian Water and they traced the source to the Hardingstone small business park (car repairs & other small businesses). Anglian water said they could not trace the owners of the area. Local knowledge suggests a spring as the amount of water varies following rain. There are several springs in the Hardingstone area. High Street always as many cars parked on the road as there is a nearby pub, hairdressers and other retail. It is a bus route and the pavement is well used. There is a junction with Back Lane. The car repair people consistently park vehicles awaiting repair in this area although they have significant land. This dangerous flow of water will freeze and be a very serious health & safety problem soon, as black ice will not be seen. Many vehicles have to steer a somewhat twisty course to negotiate this part of the road to make passing places. WNC must know who the owners of the trading estate are. Work needs to be done to remedy this danger. This was discussed at a Friends of Hardingstone meetings where 12 residents were in attendance on 02/11/24
