Wall fallen on to street

There's a retaining wall that has collapsed on to water lane outside number 87 water lane. It's approx 9ft high by 20ft wide. It's has collapsed on the footpath and some on to the road as well

  • On the 25th November 2024, WNC commented above "officers will now investigate the concern and this may take up to 5 working days". Nothing posted since! Can we please have an update.

  • Investigation: Ongoing - The owner of the retaining wall has been checked and a letter has been sent to the owner to have the broken wall removed from the public highway and repaired. A follow up will take place if the broken wall is not removed / repaired after 14 days and further enforcement action taken if required.

  • Investigation: Ongoing - The owner has contacted us to state that they will make the repairs but due to the costs involved this might take a longer period of time and in the meantime they will move any rubble off the carriageway and footway leaving the safety barriers in place due to the possibility of more rubble falling onto the footway until this is repaired.
