Standing water on highway

Reported via desktop in the Potholes / Highway Condition category by John Bamber at 21:35, Mon 25 November 2024

Sent to West Northamptonshire Council 10 hours, 42 minutes later. ref: 6784021.

There is standing water on the highway. This has been reported several times before. I don't know if it is a blocked drain or something else but with standing water, when it freezes this will be lethal, especially as it is on a corner

  • The problem of the flood more than half way across the road does not seem to be on the council radar. When will it be fixed. And if not why not ?

  • Being on a blind bend this was extremely dangerous this week when it was frozen! It’s been reported more than once & needs to be dealt with.

  • The issue with the standing water on this blind bend has still not been sorted. As it now freezes the issue is being dragged further along the road in both directions. And in order to avoid the flooding coming into Crick you are on the wrong side of the road for vehicles coming round the bend in the opposite direction. It can be a dangerous bend at the best of times and the issue really needs sorting now. Whether the underground drain has collapsed or is just blocked it isn’t going away.

  • It looks as if it needs a shovel to let the road water trickle into the ditch alongside!
