Conifer tree almost completely restricts path

Sent to West Northamptonshire Council less than a minute later. ref: 6787684.

If you are walking from Edgemont Road towards Berwick Road you are forced to walk on the grass verge as your path is completely restricted by an overgrown conifer belonging to 1 Edgemont Road. It may also restrict the view of larger vehicles turning into Edgemont Road

  • Investigation: Ongoing (Reported to a third party) - Thank you for your enquiry. A qualified Highways Inspector has assessed the location and we can confirm that the vegetation is the responsibility of the landowner. In accordance with the WNC Network Management Plan, we will contact the landowner and request they cut back their vegetation within 14 days of receipt of our correspondence. We will reinspect the vegetation to ensure they have complied.

  • Since reporting the issue with the conifers, the homeowner has not remedied the problem. They have either not received the council notification or chosen to ignore it. The time elapsed since I first reported the issue is over 3 months

  • Investigation: Completed (Highways to Monitor, Routine Inspection Programme) - A further letter has been sent to the owner / occupier to cut back the conifer and a further inspection will be carried out after 14 days.
