New heavy traffic

Reported via mobile anonymously at 10:21, Tue 3 December 2024

Sent to West Northamptonshire Council less than a minute later. ref: 6813016.

Due to the closure of A361, constant speeding traffic is going past our house on Banbury Lane, Culworth. No one is sticking to the speed limit which is 30 but needs to be slower on Banbury Lane as the road is narrow suitable for only one car to pass at a time. Cars are going too fast to stop for oncoming traffic and there are also parked cars which have been narrowly missed so far. I worry there will be an accident. Furthermore Banbury Lane towards/from Thorpe Mandeville is such a bad road in terms of potholes already - made far worse with HS2 works that it is already hazardous (also compounded by recent snow and floods). The new wave of heavy traffic will not help the already damaged road. Please can the council look into this as a matter of urgency to halt/direct traffic flow away from the lane, which is not suitable for the constant flow of traffic and heavy vehicles which don’t have enough room to pass easily.
