Road failure causing swerving vehicles

Reported via mobile in the Potholes / Highway Condition category anonymously at 18:58, Tue 3 December 2024

Sent to West Northamptonshire Council less than a minute later. ref: 6815807.

There is a stretch of road on the northbound side which has previous repairs that have now failed. This is resulting in uneven surface that everyone is swerving to avoid as otherwise you scrape the underside of your vehicle. This is resulting in vehicles driving towards Caswell on the right hand side of the road. Very dangerous as this is a blind bend and means there is going to be a very bad accident soon.

  • The issue has got dramatically worse. The road has completely failed on the northbound side. You HAVE to swerve to miss the failed areas which puts you on the wrong side of the road on a blind corner with a junction on your right. This road is used by everyone who works at Caswell and they come down from Caswell obviously ready to get home quickly as they fly round the corner. This needs to get fixed very very urgently

  • A near miss here this morning, I had to take avoiding action, clipping the grass verge, just avoiding collision with a vehicle which was comming around this corner on the wrong side of the road. this other vehicle was doing this in order to avoid falling into the multiple potholes on this failed section of road.

  • Yet another dangerous moment on this corner this morning. People heading north (I imagine to Caswell) are focussed on getting to work and come round the corner very fast. Yet again had to take evasive action to avoid a headon collision. You say its scheduled but you did say on 28th February that these works would be completed by the end of March - now I see they have been pushed back to by 15/4/25. If you don't take action urgently there is going to be a very bad accident here.
