Large number of pot holes in centre of road and alongside verge

Reported via mobile in the Potholes / Highway Condition category anonymously at 17:39, Sat 28 December 2024

Sent to West Northamptonshire Council less than a minute later. ref: 6905394.

There are a large number of potholes in the centre of the road and alongside the verge at this point for a distance of 200 metres. I witnessed "repairs" taking place recently, but the "contractors" only saw fit to "fill in" approximately 6 holes, leaving all the others. When is this section of road going to be repaired in full and properly?

  • Many holes opening up on left carriage way just past 40mph sign heading into Braunston. One particular is now getting deep with another hole opposite it. It is virtually impossible to miss hitting one or the other. Vehicles are swerving into the other carriage to avoid. An accident waiting to happen. NEEDS URGENT ATTENTION PLEASE.

  • The potholes are still there as you approach the 40mph limit from daventry into braunston. They are on the left hand side of the carriageway if approaching from daventry and the road is in an awful state. There are two potholes quite close together as you approach the 40mph limit and it is difficult to avoid one without hitting the other. The spray paint around them has apparently been done by cyclists and not the council. When is this going to get the attention needed as there could be an accident if someone decides to avoid them by going on the opposite side of the road. They've been there for a very long period of time now and are overdue attention.

  • The potholes are VERY DANGEROUS. They have been reported multiple times since December, have been investigated and marked for repair months ago but NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE. The inspection was so long ago that the repair markings have now almost worn away. Are you waiting for a serious accident to happen before you do something?

TAKE NOTICE if my vehicle is damaged in any way as a result of your failure to repair these potholes and repair the carriageway I will hold West Northamptonshire Council liable. You have been warned.

  • The amount of reports about these potholes and the council aren't taking it seriously. This has been ongoing for a long time now and it's about time the holes were fixed as people avoiding them could have an accident. Stop ignoring these reports. This has been reported constantly since December.
