Pot holes
Reported via mobile in the Potholes / Highway Condition category anonymously at 17:51, Monday 13 January 2025
Sent to West Northamptonshire Council less than a minute later. ref: 6974644.
The entire length of Abthorpe Road from the bridge over Silverstone Brook north to the Abthorpe crossroads is in an appalling state of disrepair & has been for a number of years, too many pot holes to count, failed road sides to the point of being very dangerous. With the A43 roadworks between Silverstone & Towcester now in place until 2026, West End in Silverstone (road surface equal to that of a 3rd world country) and the Abthorpe Road has become a rat run with a huge volume of traffic during rush hours & it is just a matter of time before there is a serious accident as people drive in the middle of the road at speed to avoid the road edges and potholes. There has been one fatality and a second serious accident with the victim air lifted to Coventry hospital on this road in the past few years for the reasons given above. A TRRO should be considered by WNC with immediate effect.

This destroyed not one but two of my tyres, travelling in the dark this evening with traffic coming the other way, I didn't stand a chance, and I think it may have destroyed a wheel as well.

Both me and the car ahead have both plummeted into this pothole. Immediate flat tires and I suspect a buckled wheel as well. And this weeks after the hole was supposed to have been filled?! So dangerous right by the busy crossroads.
