Investigating
Numerous Deep Potholes & Severe Rutting
Reported via mobile in the Potholes / Highway Condition category anonymously at 21:01, Tue 14 January 2025
Sent to West Northamptonshire Council less than a minute later. ref: 6980884.
The whole of this roundabout is littered with multiple deep potholes and cracks.
Additionally the road surface is severely rutted and very bumpy and uneven which makes this fast busy roundabout dangerous due to vehicles having low traction and trying to avoid hitting potholes.
Roundabout needs fully resurfacing.

I headed from Sixfields towards the Danes Camp Way roundabout and my car wheel went into a deep pothole coming up to the Duston Mill Roundabout. I was in the right hand lane behind other vehicles ( not travelling at speed) and my vehicle made a very loud clunking sound. Must say was the worst pothole clunk that I have heard. Reporting so that if any damage to my vehicle I will be contacting the council. Can I also say that if a motorbike hit the pothole at speed there could be a serious injury.

This is in a disgusting state. Both on the approach to the roundabout and on the roundabout itself. Has been reported numerous times including damage to vehicles. Work has been approved and then rejected then approved and then rejected!!. I assume the authorities are waiting for a serious injury to a motorcyclist or motorist before they take any action

Hi
I am sorry but a scheduled completion date of 19/09/2025 is just totally unacceptable given the seriously poor and dangerous condition of the roundabout and it's entry and exit points, additionally this is a main dual carriageway leading into and out of Northampton that has a 50mp speed limit.
A date for completion for repairs of over 3 months away is just appalling.
I will be bringing this up as a highlighted point and case when I meet with my MP Sarah Bool and the 3 new WNC Councillors for my Ward later this month to discuss various issues, the poor state of the highways infrastructure being one of them.
Please do better!
