Blocked drain in carpark at bottom of Mandarin Street and Firecrest Walk

Sent to West Northamptonshire Council less than a minute later. ref: 7082470.

Drain is situated under alot of overgrown trees and has become extremely blocked by leaves and debris over the years. It is spewing out mud which is now covering the carpark making the ground slippy under foot.

  • Investigation: Completed (Defect Found), Defect Repair: Not Started - Thank you for your enquiry. A qualified Highways Inspector has assessed the location and we can confirm that in accordance with the WNC Highways Inspection Manual, the flooding has been assessed and requires a Priority 4 response. We will schedule drainage investigation work to be completed within 26 weeks. When the investigation has been completed, we will inform you of our findings and course of action. Our current average response time for a Priority 4 is 55.5 days.

  • Hi,

    I think the wrong drain has been dealt with today, I saw the lorry at the other end of the street and it certainly was not looking at the drain by my house which I reported. This one is still badly blocked with debris.

    Please see attached photo for location of drain needing attention and please confirm,

  • Investigation: Completed (Defect Found), Defect Repair: No Action Necessary - Following further investigation the road is not part of the publicly maintainable highway. We are therefore not able to clean the gullies as previously advised. Please accept my apologies for the previous incorrect update. The area would currently fall under the responsibility of the housing developer.
