  • The pothole on the roundabout on Rowtree Rd at the junction of Butts Rd and Winding Brook Lane has now deteriorated and is dangerous as cars are swerving to avoid it and will cause punctures if cars do not avoid it

  • So the Council are told that its dangerous on 2 reports and they are saying expected completion is 13/8/2025 , it not good enough .

  • This is now a large pothole representing a serious hazard. It is on the roundabout and is now of sufficient size to cause damage to vehicles and collisions as drivers try to avoid it at the last minute. This needs recategorising as a priority.

  • This pothole is a severe risk now, getting deeper and bigger by the day. Accident waiting to happen for the vehicles swerving to trying to avoid. Swerving vehicles could potentially cause harm to pedestrians crossing nearby. Not forgetting the cyclists and road users.

2 further potholes starting to develop on the roundabout too. They are not in a position to try and avoid both, this is only going to cause damage to vehicles.

  • 6/3/25 pot hole is still there. There is no lighting on roundabout so difficult to see the pothole in the dark. It’s difficult to avoid & causing damage to cars. As previous comments have said it’s VERY dangerous. You could plant a large tree in the hole. Please escalate fix

  • I drove over this pothole this evening as it was dark and I was turning right at the roundabout and didn’t see it until it was too late. Incredibly dangerous and damaging to my car.

  • I have now hit this hole and punctured my tyre, this is the third tyre done on pot holes, so this time seeing as this tyre is recent from the last hole I will be making a claim. I now have photos of the hole and tyre and i am just awaiting a new tyre to be fitted. Who do I need to speak too to make a claim. Thanks Doug

  • The latest update stated that this work would be completed on 04/03/05. As of today (08/03/25), the pothole is still there. Why are the council unable to manage their subcontractors in meeting their stated timescales? As mentioned by other road users, this pot hole has grown in size and therefore is harder to swerve to avoid. Immediate action needs to be taken before a serious collision occurs.

  • Oh fantastic news, it’s the 14th today and already 18:30 in the evening, I assume your team is out there right now, working under the moonlight to get it done? Or should we be expecting another thrilling update with a brand-new completion date soon?

Posted by Russell Sprout at 18:33, Friday

  • The council are able to send their bills out on time, anything else is clearly beyond their ability. How far does this issue need to be escalated before it gets the attention it deserves. Once again you have missed your own completion date. Absolutely useless council. Your subcontractors are taking you for a ride, and the residents of Northampton are paying for it.

  • Completion date has passed and still not fixed! It’s dangerous swerving to miss this pothole on this busy roundabout. When is the next expected completion date? Have to believe it’ll be 3rd time lucky ☹️🤦🏼‍♀️
