Illegal parking

Reported via mobile in the Inconsiderate Parking (Restrictions in place) category anonymously at 18:37, Thursday 13 March 2025

Sent to West Northamptonshire Council less than a minute later. ref: 7275007.

Despite double yellow lines , this van consistently parks where he likes with no consideration for fellow road users , pedestrians safety. This has been ongoing for many weeks. This area is used by schoolchildren. The VW parks outside his house on Kent rd , on the kerb , on a single yellow line. Both cause unnecessary obstructions and a hazard to other drivers and all pedestrians.

  • Your report has been passed to our parking for enforcement officers to visit. For our Civil Enforcement Officers to issue a Penalty Charge Notice they would need to be present and observe the vehicles parking for longer than 20 minutes. Regrettably, due to the geographical area that our Enforcement Officer’s cover it is not possible to remain in one location for a prolonged period, therefore there will unfortunately always be occasions where vehicles will park in contravention of the restrictions in place without receiving a Penalty Charge Notice. Our enforcement officers cannot be at this location every week to monitor the vehicles so you may wish to contact the police as they would have the ability to decide on taking appropriate action against drivers that may be breaking road traffic laws and parking in a way that causes obstruction.

  • The Double Yellow lines are currently unenforceable as the order is not yet sealed, we believe this is going to happen on the 17th March but until we receive confirmation of this we would be unable to visit. Once this is complete, we will arrange to visit.
