Overhanging trees

Sent to West Northamptonshire Council less than a minute later. ref: 7609704.

Previous report 6515788 back in September last year which was closed and was supposed to be being monitored by Highways has now got to the position where today large delivery vehicles will not deliver to Bradden Way because of damage the trees, some of which are now hanging down to ground level, would damage their vehicles. This problem has now gone beyond a monitoring situation and needs to be urgently addressed

A qualified Highways Inspector has assessed the location and we can confirm that in accordance with the WNC Highways Inspection Manual, the defect meets the requirement for a Priority 4 repair. We will schedule a repair to be completed within 26 weeks. Our current average response time for a Priority 4 repair is 47 days.

  • All these trees need is trimming back and this has been the position now for well over a year. Delivery lorries and dustbin lorries in particular are consistently knocking off branches

  • This request for trees to be cut back on Bradden Way has been ongoing now for almost 12 months and apparently is being monitored until I again report it when the same ‘being monitored’ will no doubt be repeated!!

  • A large branch on one of these trees has now split from the trunk and is laying on the ground. action is required not ‘monitoring'

  • I am unsure if it relates to the above - but in Littleworth, by the junction near Duncote - there is a overhanging tree which is about to fall - we are very concerned it may fall any day and hurt someone.
