Serious damage to the road surface requiring urgent attention
Reported via desktop in the Potholes / Highway Condition category anonymously at 12:54, Fri 6 June 2025
Sent to West Northamptonshire Council less than a minute later. ref: 7671215.
The extremely poor condition of this stretch of road between Farthingstone an Litchborough has been reported on multiple occasions. Some remedial work was carried out to a poor standard and the stretch is now extremely dangerous with cars weaving about trying to avoid damage to their vehicles. With several road closures scheduled due to the Farthingstone Hotel and Golf course development, increased traffic flow along this stretch of road is expected.

The first very small part of the repair was carried out week beginning 23rd June. The roadworks foreman advised that the job required the use of the large road planer and this would happen week beginning 30th June. This did not happen and as mentioned previously the increased traffic flow due to other road closures in Farthingstone has caused the situation to deteriorate further as more vehicles were diverted via Litchborough. It is now becoming increasingly dangerous and almost impossible for small vehicles to proceed through this long section of road. Repairs are required urgently.

This area still needs urgent attention instead of the small potholes that were repaired this week outside Barn Court Maidford Rd Farthingstone. I cannot work out your priority schedules.

The holes are not much worse with loose gravel all over the road. Dangerous on motorbike, very nearly skidded over while in 1st gear

These repairs need to be done without further delay. The road surface is lethal for cyclists on what is a fast downhill section. The numerous potholes cannot be avoided and are not easy to see in dappled shade, or worse, at dusk or in the dark. The council is negligent in allowing the road to have deteriorated to this appalling degree. Fix it now before somebody gets hurt!

In what world is it acceptable to take 6 months to complete this repair? The road surface has worsened and temporary repairs need to be made if you plan on waiting until December to fix this. If only I paid council tax so you could figure this out for yourselves and I didn't have to write this...Moronic.
