Investigating
Several potholes on narrow overgrown path
Reported via desktop in the Pothole / Failed Reinstatement category anonymously at 15:15, Tuesday 17 June 2025
Sent to West Northamptonshire Council less than a minute later. ref: 7723619.
The public footpath from the rear of the village hall to the fields is very steep, overgrown, slippy with big potholes at various points making it extremely dangerous. Where the ground is less steep it needs levelling, where it is steep it needs proper steps and the vegetation needs cutting back. This has been reported several times before and the problems are getting worse. Someone is going to hurt themselves very badly soon, especially as soon as there is some rain, or break their ankle in one of the holes. Please could you resolve. Thank you very much

Thank you for your response earlier today. I have checked with the Parish Clerk who says the footpath is NOT privately owned and is the responsibility for WNC. This was first reported a long time ago on your ref 5050237. This footpath is used often and so a quick resolution would be appreciated. Thank you

Good afternoon. Following your last update, I spoke to the Parish Clerk who has provided the attached map showing the footpath is unregistered land. Apparently, Kier has already agreed that the land is WNC’s responsibility and the work needs doing, but that was a very long time ago! It’s dangerous. Please could you provide an update and a timescale? Thank you
