Capacity Issue

Reported via mobile in the Blocked/Damaged category anonymously at 12:41, Mon 7 July 2025

Sent to West Northamptonshire Council less than a minute later. ref: 7820957.

Drain has been looked at several times in past 12-18months. However issue remains that when rainfall is more than simply light rain the whole corner floods, persistent rainfall results in water entering the property boundary by gate that is visible on photo. This means l sandbags have to be put out whenever there is medium or heavy rainfall. Risk of water entering the property if rainfall occurs whilst I am not present at the property to put sandbags out.

  • Investigation: Completed (No Action Necessary) - Thank you for your enquiry. Our Highways Inspector has assessed the reported location, after investigation we can confirm that the ditch does not belong to the Highways. On inspection we check, cleaned and jetted all the drains and these were found running clear. From our investigation it suggest that the ditch is in need of attention as it is holding water. From council records, it would look that the adjacent properties have riparian ownership as in the most cases with most watercourses. We apologise that we could not be of any further assistance.
