Upton country park

Reported via desktop in the Parks/landscapes category anonymously at 18:02, Friday 11 July 2025

Sent to West Northamptonshire Council less than a minute later. ref: 7864083.

Upton country park has a number of invasive species which need removing by law. I have seen giant hogweed along the embankments in the south (near this marker) and there are a number of Himalayan Basalm growing along the waterway (west of the pathway).

I have also noticed the Giant hogweed to be prevalent along the canal and on the land which borders Sixfields lake.

Basalm location (what3words): chins.incomes.master

Updates

  • Spread of the invasive species is all along river/ canal. Failure to clear these is leading to them seeding downstream near university campus/avon bridge.
