Drainage blocked after rain on Sunday

Reported via mobile in the Blocked/Damaged category anonymously at 23:44, Fri 11 July 2025

Sent to West Northamptonshire Council less than a minute later. ref: 7864838.

Blocked drains along West End are causing water to back up during rainfall. Although the surface appears dry now due to recent hot weather, the underlying drainage issue has not been resolved. The most recent rain on Sunday caused visible pooling again, and water takes far too long to clear.

This is not a one-off incident. Multiple properties in the area suffered flooding damage last year, and despite that, no long-term action has been taken. A council representative visited last Thursday but incorrectly reported that there was no issue. Residents remain concerned that nothing is being done to properly inspect or maintain the drainage system.

Photos already submitted by a neighbour (Jacqui Warren) show the problem clearly, and I am adding my support to the report.

We ask that the drainage system in West End be properly inspected, cleaned, and assessed for capacity – especially considering the number of properties now relying on it.
