Dangerous tree hazard to public saftey.

Reported via desktop anonymously at 18:54, Sun 7 September 2025

Sent to West Northamptonshire Council less than a minute later. ref: 8132667.

The tree which the council planted in front of my property, 26 St Michaels Avenue, and my neighbour's property of 24 St Michaels Avenue poses a serious danger to the health and safety of the public, pedestrians, and homeowners. As can be seen from the photos provided every August to October this tree which is overgrown and overhanging my property up to the windows on the first and second floors sheds thousands of large fruits over the public footpath and over my and my neighbours front garden making it impossible to leave our properties and cross the path without treading on the fruit or the rotten slimy residue they produce and slipping or falling. The fruits also fall on top of people's heads passing by and could possibly blind someone by hitting them in the eye. Nowhere else in Northampton has a tree like this been planted which sheds huge numbers of large fruits over the footpath and people's property posing a danger to everyone's health and safety. The council made a very big mistake planting this species of fruiting tree on the public footpath and must acknowledge this. Every other tree in the avenue neither produces nor sheds fruit like this one does. The council must cut down and uproot this tree immediately or sterilize it so that it cannot shed fruit over the footpath and people's properties.
