Probable Priority 2 pothole

Reported via desktop in the Potholes / Highway Condition category by Cllr Peter Matten at 15:34, Wednesday 26 November 2025

Sent to West Northamptonshire Council less than a minute later. ref: 8468664.

This is a very bad pothole. It's too big for my 600mm long spirit level to go across the width of it and you can see from the photo it's over 80mm deep. If my spirit level were to reach the road surface on both sides, it may even be over 100mm deep. The What3words location is ///exits.alpha.coffee . .There are 3 or 4 potholes that require repair on this stretch of road and a particulary bad one on the 'S' bend before this straight (Welton end) on the other side of the road, it would be too dangerous for me to photo. Please can we have these repaired urgently? Many thanks.

  • On a 60mph Rd, a driver will not see this with sufficient time to avoid it, especially if a car is coming the other way, and especially in the dark. I have some yellow line marking paint. Are you happy for me to go and spray yellow around the area, so hopefully people will be able to see it better please?

  • Absolutely screwed my tyre up tonight. It's very dark and with oncoming traffic you cannot see the pot hole to even try and avoid it. Really could have done without this expense, thanks.
