Large deep pothole

Sent to West Northamptonshire Council less than a minute later. ref: 8468716.

Pot hole on approach to roundabout is deep and large motorists are swerving to opposite side of road to avoid it, there is also another one slightly further back that also needs inspecting

A qualified Highways Inspector has assessed the location and we can confirm that in accordance with the WNC Highways Inspection Manual, the defect meets the requirement for a Priority 4 repair. We will schedule a repair to be completed within 26 weeks. Our current average response time for a Priority 4 repair is 59 days.

  • This is getting worse as it is now deteriorating and is very long. It is impossible to miss and you need to move out into the path of traffic leaving the roundabout in order to miss it.

  • Still open, via questionnaire, 17:43, Wed 24 December 2025

  • This is deteriorating significantly. Any two wheeled vehicle is in danger of being unseated if they hit this pothole. There is no lighting to illuminate it at night and headlights from a bike would not show it up in time to avoid.

  • THIS POTHOLE HAS JUST BURST 2 OF TYRES and damaged my alloys! . This pothole has to be fixed immediately it is a RISK TO LIFE . I will be getting into contact with west Northampton council on Monday morning regarding this . This issue was reported to you on the 26 November 2025 and is still not fixed. Absolutely unacceptable

  • We just had new tyres out in the week before this, and this pothole immediately burst one of the new tyres so just 7 days later, we paid for another new tyre.
