Flooding again A413

Reported via Android in the Potholes / Highway Condition category anonymously at 11:57, Sat 29 November 2025

Sent to West Northamptonshire Council less than a minute later. ref: 8479510.

Previously reported regarding the debris around the roundabout which washes into the drains. It's flooded again! The roadsurface is breaking up in several places around the roundabout . When will this be addressed? We pay WNC circa £3.5 Million each year in Silverstone, but get poor service at best?

  • As the debris surrounding the roundabout hasn't been swept it is unlikely that the problem has been fixed as when it rains next it will be washed into the drain blocking it again!

  • Flooding again every time it rains and then freezes over night and is a giant ice rink in the mornings. Dangerous and unsafe as its hiding all the pot holes under it and you have no choice but to drive through the water as the flood is so big.

  • Roundabout flooded once again this Sunday, down to walking pace to get round it, because of lurching over potholes concealed under the water. You have now been “investigating further” for two months. How much longer?

  • Last night the flooding filled the whole roundabout and was pouring down the slip road. Surely this is a drainage problem as it has never been this bad in past years?

  • The roundabout has flooded again. As a result of your ongoing failure to repair this, the entire road surface has failed. I cannot provide imaging as the surface has failed so severely there is nowhere safe to stop a car. The entire roundabout surface has completely collapsed, there is nowhere to go to avoid the failed road surface. You have been told about this for months if not years. Do your job and fix it for once.

  • Hi W-Northants council, Just thought I'd look on 'Fix my street' to look at this issue at the roundabout. To find its been reported 5 times already, going back to Nov '25..!! It really is quite a state at this location, and as others have already mentioned, due to the serious flooding, those vehicles who are not from the area, will be completely unaware of the huge pot-holes that lie beneath the water. I do not understand why a drains vacuum truck is not sent out to at least clear the drains which are blocked, so at least drivers can see the road surface issues.?!?! I can appreciate repairing the road surface repairs will take longer to organise, but surely someone can at least clear the drains to start with?? Given the multiple reports here, I thought I'd try to call the highways dept to speak to a human and see what's going on. So far I've been on-hold for 26mins and counting..!! So it appears that's pointless as well. Please can someone at the council please give a more detailed update on what's going on rather than the automated - 'We're Investigating' reply!! Here's hoping they'll be a little more detail soon on what's happening.... Thank you, James.

  • Dear WN-Council - Re your reply above, which states "We are currently consulting with National Highways for approval to carry out the required investigations. ". Why do you need to consult National Highways?? They are of course responsible for the main A43 and its associated slip roads, but checking on their website, their responsibility ends on the slip road at the junction with Burcote Road. Hence the roundabout that this defect is on is entirely in the maintenance area of WN-Council. So to me, on the face of it, this appears to be an unnecessary consultation with them adding delay. Please can you comment back and explain, or outline where my information may be incorrect...??? Thank you. James.
