Dangerous wooden crossing and obstructed route

Sent to West Northamptonshire Council less than a minute later. ref: 8501817.

There is a wooden crossing of a ditch that is now very overgrown but it also has a large hole in it that someone could easily put a leg down. Also the route seems to have been made very difficult to access and it wouldn’t be possible to get round if you were on a horse as many people ride around here.

  • Where this bridleway comes out onto moreton road it has been diverted for many years with a sign saying “temporary diversion “. Is now also blocked with electric fencing.

A qualified Highways Inspector has assessed the location and we can confirm that in accordance with the WNC Highways Inspection Manual, the defect meets the requirement for a Priority 3 repair. We will schedule a repair to be completed within 28 days. Our current average response time for a Priority 3 repair is 12 days.
