Large Willow blocking Vehicle Activated Sign and pedestrian access

Reported via desktop in the Restricted Visibility / Overgrown / Overhanging category anonymously at 19:55, Mon 8 December 2025

Sent to West Northamptonshire Council less than a minute later. ref: 8519735.

This large willow tree restricts the view and impact of the the newly installed VAS. This sign has been funded by Police, Fire and Crime Commission and NTC and has already had significant impact on vehicles travelling from the town down Billing Road East when the sign was facing in that direction. Now that the sign has been turned around to try to influence the speed of vehicles travelling from the A43 the data shows that th tree is significantly obscuring the sight line of the VAS. Regrettable this was not acknowledged when WNC surveyed the road to agree the position for the VAS. Data has already proved that there is a significant change in behaviour of drivers when they can see the speed flash up. Your speedy attention to carrying out the required work needed to reduced the size of the willow would be appreciated by Abington Vale Residents Association.
