Previous Pothole has come back to life

Reported via mobile in the Potholes / Highway Condition category anonymously at 09:05, Tue 9 December 2025

Sent to West Northamptonshire Council less than a minute later. ref: 8521232.

A previously poorly repaired pothole has now broken up and is causing drivers to drive in the middle of the road. This is very dangerous as there is a sharp bend that other drivers cut regularly. This is an accident waiting to happen.

  • I hit this pothole on Jan 3. In spite of this being notified to the Council on December 9 there is still no warning to motorists by way of signs, road marking such as paint nor anything to fence off the hole. All of these types of measures could have been implemented at inspection or before even if the Council is not in a position to repair for 59 days. In the dark -in fact even in daylight - it is very difficult to see it so hard not to drive over it and it is a deep hole. The options to avoid it would either be to swerve around it or into the verge both of which I have since seen other motorists doing. It is very dangerous. The damage to my car has cost over £500 to repair because it broke the suspension among other things.. I will be pursuing this.

  • I punctured my front driver side tyre on this very pothole this morning resulting in a bill of £300. When there is traffic coming in the opposite direction it is near on impossible to avoid this pot hole. The fact it was reported early December and has still not been repaired is ridiculous. There will be a major incident here if this isn’t repaired promptly. I will be pursuing this with West Northamptonshire Council.
